Government-ID Verification at the Kiosk, Powered by Veriff
Some sites can't just take a visitor's word for who they are. Financial services, healthcare, government contractors and secure facilities need to verify identity at the door. WelcomeDesk now does exactly that.

Real ID checks, without building a vision pipeline
We didn't try to build document scanning ourselves. Identity verification is a specialist field, and Veriff is one of the best at it. WelcomeDesk integrates Veriff directly into the kiosk flow: a visitor presents a government-issued ID, Veriff checks it, and the result (name, document type, pass or fail) is written to the visit record.
The raw document image is never kept longer than the check itself needs. You get the verification outcome on the record; you don't become a store of scanned passports.
Pricing that doesn't punish low volume
ID verification is a per-scan add-on with no monthly fee. You're billed per verification at pass-through rates, around $1.00 per scan, dropping toward $0.50 as your volume grows. A site that verifies five visitors a month pays for five; a site that never uses it pays nothing. Billing is handled entirely by WelcomeDesk, so there's no separate Veriff contract to manage.
Pair a kiosk with a QR code
Setting up a verification kiosk should take seconds, so we added QR pairing. Open the kiosk-QR screen on your dashboard, scan it with the tablet you want to use, and the device is paired and ready. No long URLs to type, no copy-paste between devices. Point a camera and you're live.
Turn it on when you need it
- Enable the ID verification add-on from your billing settings.
- Verification is gated on that add-on, so it never appears or bills unless you've switched it on.
- Choose which visitor types require a check; everyone else signs in as normal.
For regulated industries this closes one of the last real gaps between WelcomeDesk and far pricier enterprise systems, at a fraction of the cost.
